How We Work

Step 1:

Initial Consultation

A parent-focused session to understand your child’s strengths, challenges, and daily routines. Parents leave with greater clarity about their child’s needs, guidance on whether Capable Kids is the right fit, and clear recommendations for next steps and services.

Parents meet with an OT-informed provider to discuss their child’s strengths, challenges, daily routines, and family priorities. This conversation helps determine fit and ensures support is aligned with the child’s needs and family expectations.

Step 2:

Evaluation & Planning

Online or in-person session is scheduled for initial assessment when child's, sensory, regulatory, and executive functioning needs are identified. Goals are developed collaboratively, and a clear recommendation for frequency and duration of support is provided.

Step 3:

Ongoing Support

Recurring sessions are scheduled focus on building foundational skills that impact daily participation. Parents receive ongoing guidance to support carryover between sessions, and services evolve over time as children gain skills, confidence, and independence.
